Cachar College Signs MoU with District Health Society and Organizes Blood Donation Camp

way2barak, February 10 : Cachar College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Health Society, Cachar, to promote public health initiatives. The agreement was signed by Dr. Sibananda Roy, Joint Director cum Member Secretary of DHS Cachar, and Md. Shams Uddin, Vice Principal of Cachar College. Under this MoU, the college will organize blood donation camps every four months under the “Jibanamrit” initiative, while the Health Department will set up an Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) creation kiosk and provide medical support for health camps and awareness programs.

On the same day, the NSS Unit of Cachar College, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Silchar Lioness and the Blood Centre, S.M. Dev Civil Hospital, organized a voluntary blood donation camp. A total of 23 volunteers participated in the noble cause. Dr. Indrani Bhattacharjee, President of the Lions Club of Silchar Lioness, inspired students by highlighting the importance of blood donation. The event was supported by medical professionals, including Dr. Arpita Deb, Mr. Washim Zabed Choudhury and other technical staff from S.M. Dev Civil Hospital. Volunteers were honored with medals and certificates of appreciation. Dr. Dipyaman Mohanta, Programme Officer of NSS Cachar College, emphasized that this collaboration will help build a strong community of blood donors and encourage students to actively engage in social service, marking a significant step in strengthening health awareness at Cachar College.
