Cachar College Celebrates NSS Day with Blood Donation Camp

way2barak, Sept 22: In a noble gesture aimed at fostering awareness about the significance of blood donation among the youth, a successful blood donation camp was organized by NSS Cachar College Unit in association with Lions Club of Silchar Scholars to mark the celebration of NSS day 2023.

Dr. Dipyaman Mohanta, the Program Officer of NSS Cachar College, expressed the primary motive of the camp, which was to inculcate the significance of blood donation within the youth of the college. The NSS Cachar College Unit has been actively working to instigate a sense of community service among the college students. On the occasion of NSS Day, their goal extended beyond mere awareness, it was a collective effort to make a difference in the lives of those in needs.

Suprava Rajkumari Sinha, the President of the Lions Club of Silchar Scholars, addressed the students and emphasized that blood donation is an act of compassion and love. It’s a simple yet profound gesture capable of saving countless lives.
Both teachers and students of Cachar College actively participated in the blood donation camp, with a total of 23 individuals generously donating blood. The medical team from the S.M. Dev Civil Hospital Blood Centre, led by Washim Zabed Choudhury, tirelessly worked throughout the event, contributing significantly to its success.
This blood donation camp also aligns with the Seva Pakhwada initiative under the Ayushman Bharat Campaign, underscoring its broader impact on healthcare and community welfare.
The successful event not only highlighted the spirit of service and compassion but also set an inspiring example for the community, emphasizing the vital role of youth in actively contributing to the betterment of society.
