408th Birth Anniversary of Saint Tulsidas observed at Hindi Bhavan, Silchar

August 11: On Sunday, the 408th Birth Anniversary of Sant Tulsidas was observed at Hindi Bhavan Silchar with pomp and enthusiasm by Barak Hindi Sahitya Samiti. At the outset, floral tributes were paid on the portrait of Sant Tulsidas.

This was followed by a seminar on the theme of Sant Tulsidas which was presided over by Kunjo Bihari Goala-Vice President of Barak Hindi Sahitya Samiti in presence of its General Secretary Bansilal Bhati and VP Parmeshwar Lal Kabra. The speakers Rabi Nunia, Sanjeev Roy, Kamal Sarda, Babul Narayan Kanu, Durgesh Kurmi and others highlighted the life and works of Sant Tulsidas and urged upon the young generation to come forward for promoting the books and ideologies of the great saint.

A cultural programme was also organised in this connection where Anup Patoa, Aparna Tewari, Kamala Sonar and Urmila Kanu performed some melodious songs melody and enthralled the gathering. Prominent among others who were present included Dr Ranjan Singh, Pradip Kurmi, Girja Shankar Agarwal, Kameshwar Gajlu, Yugal Kishore Tripathi, Rajaram Bin and others.
