Biggest spike of 3266 tests +ve in Assam on Monday, tally reaches 1,09,040
Active cases 24,804 in Assam
August 31: On Monday, Assam recorded a biggest spike of 3266 COVID-19 positive cases. With this, a total of 1,09,040 positive cases were registered in Assam till now. Further, Cachar district registered a total of 189 positive cases during the day. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 3266 #COVID cases detected today out of 44948 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 7.26% Kamrup M- 700; Golaghat- 233; Cachar- 189; Jorhat- 189.”
Further, Assam also registered 10 more COVID-19 deaths on Monday, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 306.
