Big spike! 6,982 found Covid +ve in Assam, 2,281 discharged & 11 deaths registered on Monday

Jan. 17: On Monday, out of 64,919 tests, 6,982 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 6,53,717. The positivity rate in the state is 10.75 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,491 positive cases during the day. Further, on Monday, 11 died in the state due to COVID-19. The death toll in the state stands at 6,217. The recovery rate is 95.18 percent. Also, 2,281 persons were discharged during the day. There are at present 23,948 active Covid patients in the state.

It needs mention here that on Sunday, 2,709 persons tested positive in Assam and 05 deaths were registered.
