400 participants from 28 states take part in FDP course organised by Dept of Business Administration of Assam Univ

Sept. 14: All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has taken various quality initiatives to promote technical education in the country which also includes enhanced impetus on the development of the faculty teaching in the colleges across the country. The AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy is one of its initiatives that has been conducting various Faculty Development Program (FDP) for imparting/ upgrading faculty knowledge in thrust and emerging areas.

Given the COVID- 19 backdrop, this year 1,545 FDPs in various emerging areas are getting conducted in online mode.Keeping in congruence to this initiative of AICTE , along with IITs, IIMs, NITs, etc., Assam University, Dept of Business Administration has also conducted 2 FDPs under the thrust area ‘Research Methodology Techniques & Software for Social Sciences. One FDP was elementary level conducted from 23 August, 2021 to 27 August,  2021 and other was advanced level conducted from 6 September, 2021 to 10 September, 2021.

In the inaugural session, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath, Dean of J.N School of Management Studies Prof A.L Ghosh & HOD of Department of Business Administration, Assam University H.Ramananda Singh enlightened the participants with their words of wisdom. Relevance of Statistical tools in social science research was also discussed.

A total of 400 participants, 200 in each program have joined online from almost 28 states of India. Renowned resource person from Assam University, Banaras Hindu University, Pondicherry University, Rajasthan University, Bangalore University, Guwahati University etc. had delivered lecture in the said program. Participation in the program was totally free of cost and participants had received complete hands on training on SPSS software.

Keeping in view of daily stress and anxiety of students and researchers, one special session in each FDP on Stress Management had also been conducted by internationally acclaimed Faculty, Akhilesh Parmanu, Director,
Government Executive Programs(GEP), Art of Living foundation & Swami Vedatitananda Ji & Swami Divyananda Ji from Ramkrishna Mission. The Program was coordinated by Dr. Deepjyoti Choudhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, Assam University.
