Barak at Annapurna Ghat below danger level, flowing at 17.66 mt at 8 PM on Thursday

May 26: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak started to rise. However,  since Monday, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was gradually decreasing and came down much below the danger level.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at 8 PM on Thursday, was flowing much below the danger level and was recorded at 17.66 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level is decreasing at 2 cm per hour at this hour.

The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.
