Awareness programme on G20 Summit held at VKV, Borjalenga

Way2barak, February 28 : An awareness programme on G20 Summit was held at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Borjalenga on Energy Efficient Lifestyle among the school students. Prof. Niranjan Roy, nodal person, Himalayan Knowledge Network programme of Assam University and Dr. Arunjyoti Nath of the department of Ecology and Environmental sciences of Assam University delivered lectures on the various ways and measures to be taken for promoting Energy Efficient lifestyle.

Students participated in the interaction session with the resource persons. The discussions and interactions were very lively. Students inquisitiveness on various facets of Energy Efficient lifestyle attracted the attention of both the resource person prof. Niranjan Roy and Dr. Arunjyoti Nath. Partha Sarathi Das, Principal, VKB, Borjalenga presided over the programme. Dr Debotosh Chakraborty, Associate professor, Department of Political Science, Assam University also delivered a lecture on the duties and responsibilities of citizens.

It is to be mentioned here that as sponsored by Himalayan knowledge network programme of GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, Uttarakhand, Assam University has undertaken awareness programme on LIFE ( Life Style for Environment) under the initiative of G20 Nations under presidentship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Assam University was given two awareness programmes to be organised one in a school and another in a college as a part of Himalayan Knowledge Network Programme.
