AUDC Students Visit ‘Kazir Ronghangpi Heritage Fair’ on Educational Tour
‘কাজির রংহাংপি হেরিটেজ মেলা’য় শিক্ষামূলক ভ্রমণ আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পড়ুয়াদের

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ৯ মার্চ : প্রাকৃতিক ঐতিহ্য সংরক্ষণ, জীববৈচিত্র্য রক্ষা ও পর্যটন শিল্পের প্রভাব নিয়ে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে আয়োজিত ‘কাজির রংহাংপি হেরিটেজ মেলা’য় অংশ নিলেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ডিফু ক্যাম্পাসের জীববিজ্ঞান বিভাগের পড়ুয়ারা। মেলার দ্বিতীয় দিনে বিভাগের একদল ছাত্রছাত্রী বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রমে সক্রিয়ভাবে যুক্ত হন। রাজ্যের বিশ্বখ্যাত পর্যটনকেন্দ্র কাজিরঙ্গা ন্যাশনাল পার্ক সংলগ্ন এলাকায় আয়োজিত এই ঐতিহ্যবাহী মেলাটি পরিবেশ ও জীববৈচিত্র্য সংরক্ষণকে কেন্দ্র করে আয়োজিত হচ্ছে।

এই মেলার আয়োজক কমিটির অন্যতম সদস্যা তথা আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ডিফু ক্যাম্পাসের জীববিজ্ঞান বিভাগের প্রধান ড. রমি এইচ বেগমের উদ্যোগে ও সমন্বয়ে বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীরা মেলায় অংশ নিয়ে জীববৈচিত্র্য সংরক্ষণ, পরিবেশগত ভারসাম্য এবং স্থানীয় বাস্তুতন্ত্রের গুরুত্ব নিয়ে আলোচনা ও সচেতনতামূলক কার্যক্রমে অংশ নেন।

মেলার মূল লক্ষ্য হচ্ছে উত্তর–পূর্ব ভারতের সমৃদ্ধ প্রাকৃতিক ঐতিহ্য ও সংস্কৃতিকে তুলে ধরা, পাশাপাশি সংবেদনশীল বন ও বন্যপ্রাণ বাস্তুতন্ত্রে দ্রুত বৃদ্ধি পাওয়া পর্যটন শিল্পের সম্ভাব্য হুমকি নিয়ে আলোচনার ক্ষেত্র তৈরি করা। বিশেষজ্ঞ, গবেষক, পরিবেশবিদ ও শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে বিভিন্ন সেমিনার, প্রদর্শনী এবং আলোচনা সভার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।

বিভাগীয় প্রধান ড. রমি এইচ বেগম জানান, এ ধরনের উদ্যোগ পড়ুয়াদের গবেষণাধর্মী শিক্ষা ও অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জনে সহায়ক হবে এবং পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণে ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মকে আরও সক্রিয় ভূমিকা নিতে উৎসাহিত করবে।

Way2barak, March 9 : Students from the Department of Life Sciences and Bioinformatics at the Diphu Campus of Assam University took part in an educational visit to the ‘Kazir Ronghangpi Heritage Fair’, organized to promote awareness about conservation of natural heritage, protection of biodiversity, and the impact of the tourism industry.
On the second day of the fair, a group of students from the department actively participated in various activities. The traditional fair is being held in an area adjacent to Kaziranga National Park, one of the state’s world-renowned tourist destinations, and focuses on environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.

The participation of the students was facilitated and coordinated by Dr. Ramie H Begum, Head of the Department of Life Sciences and Bioinformatics at the Diphu Campus of Assam University and a member of the fair’s organizing committee. During the event, students engaged in discussions and awareness programmes highlighting the importance of biodiversity conservation, ecological balance, and the protection of local ecosystems.

The main objective of the fair is to showcase the rich natural heritage and culture of Northeast India, while also creating a platform to discuss the potential threats posed by the rapidly growing tourism industry to sensitive forest and wildlife ecosystems. The event features seminars, exhibitions, and discussion sessions with the participation of experts, researchers, environmentalists, and students.

Dr. Romie H. Begum stated that such initiatives would help students gain research-oriented learning and practical experience, and encourage the younger generation to play a more active role in environmental conservation.
