AUDC organizes an awareness program on Anti-ragging
আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ডিফু ক্যাম্পাসে র‍্যাগিং বিরোধী সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১১ সেপ্টেম্বর : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ডিফু ক্যাম্পাসে শুক্রবার আয়োজিত হল র‍্যাগিং বিরোধী সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি। এদিন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিলচরের অ্যান্টি র‍্যাগিং সেল ও আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ডিফু ক্যাম্পাস যৌথভাবে এই কর্মসূচি পরিচালনা করে।

এই কর্মসূচিতে বক্তব্য রাখেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রোকটর অধ্যাপক প্রদীপ্ত দাস, ডেপুটি প্রোকটর অধ্যাপক অরুণজ্যোতি নাথ ও ডিফু ক্যাম্পাসের ডেপুটি প্রোকটর ড. রমি এইচ বেগম।

অধ্যাপক দাস বলেন, র‍্যাগিংয়ের নতুন সংজ্ঞা হল বর্ণ, জাতি, ধর্ম, বর্ণ, লিঙ্গ (ট্রান্সজেন্ডার সহ), যৌন অভিমুখিতা, চেহারা, জাতীয়তা, আঞ্চলিক উৎস, ভাষাগত পরিচয়, জন্মস্থান, বসবাসের স্থান বা অর্থনৈতিক পটভূমির ভিত্তিতে অন্য শিক্ষার্থীর ওপর শারীরিক বা মানসিক নির্যাতনের যে কোনও কাজ করা। অধ্যাপক নাথ সমাবেশকে র‍্যাগিংয়ের পরিণতি সম্পর্কে অবহিত করেন।

এদিন শিক্ষার্থীদের র‍্যাগিং বিরোধী আইন, র‍্যাগিংয়ের ধরন, র‍্যাগিংয়ের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের এবং র‍্যাগিংয়ের দীর্ঘ ও স্বল্পমেয়াদী প্রভাব সম্পর্কে অবহিত করা হয়। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ডিফু ক্যাম্পাসের সব বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীরা এতে অংশ নেন।

Way2barak, September 12 : An Awareness program on Anti-ragging was organized successfully in the Assam University Diphu Campus (AUDC). The program was jointly run by Anti Ragging Cell, Assam University Silchar and Assam University Diphu Campus for the students of AUDC on Friday. Prof. Prodipto Das and Prof. Arunjyoti Nath, Proctor and Deputy Proctor of Assam University, Silchar and Dr. Ramie H Begum, Deputy Proctor of AUDC spoke at the program as a speaker.

Prof. Das told new definition for ragging is any act of physical or mental abuse targeted at another student (fresher or otherwise) on the ground of colour, race, religion, caste, ethnicity, gender (including transgender), sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins, linguistic identity, place of birth, place of residence or economic background. Prof. Nath apprised the gathering about the consequences of ragging which in her opinion would be devastating for both the parties.

The students were appraised on the Laws of Anti-ragging, types of ragging, filing of cases against ragging and long and short term effects of ragging during the program. Students from all departments of AUDC attended the program.
