With 6 more COVID-19 +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 82
6 health care workers of SMCH tests positive
Sept. 19: Another 06 new cases of COVID-19 positive were detected on Saturday as per the 3rd slot of RT-PCR Test results. With this, the day’s total has now gone upto 82 in Cachar district. During the day, 64 were found positive, whereas 18 were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Saturday night. With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 8,157 till now. It needs mention here that 78 persons were found positive in Cachar on Friday.
In the 1st slot RT-PCR Test results on Saturday, 05 persons tested positive. They are 34-year-old male from Jhalupara, 62-year-old male from Barkhola, 30-year-old male from Silcoorie Camp, 32-year-old female from Lane No-6, Shivalik Park and 30-year-old female from Kalain Tea Estate.
In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test, 07 more persons were detected as COVID-19 positive. Out of them, 6 positive cases are Health Care Workers from Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). The last one in this slot is a 36 years old female from Pallorbond Tea Estate, who came in direct contact with a high risk lab confirmed case.
In the 3rd slot of RT-PCR test results on Saturday, 6 persons were found positive in Cachar district. They are a 22-year-old male from Das Colony (air passenger from Guwahati), 35-year-old male from Kanakpur Part-III (SARI Patient), 32-year-old male from Ward No 7, Lakhipur, 38 years old female from Langlacherra-7 (came in contact with high risk case), 58 years female from Joypur Part-II (came in contact with high risk case) and 55 years old male from Langlacherra 7 (came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case).
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Saturday said that in the last 24 hours, 248 persons were screened at SMCH. Throat swab of another 585 persons were collected. 346 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which,22 of them tested positive. Further, 133 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 13 were found positive.
Apart from this, 12 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 12 were discharged. At present, there are 147 active patients at SMCH,out of which, 16 are admitted in ICU and 03 in ventilation. 24 patients are now in critical condition. Another 31 patients are now under oxygen support. Further, 129 persons have donated plasma which was administered upon 242 patients.
Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, 01 person from Cachar district have died at SMCH. As of now, there were 138 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 138 deaths, 57 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
