Assam registers 4 more COVID-19 deaths including 1 from Silchar, tally reaches 92
July 29: On Wednesday, Assam registered 4 more deaths due to COVID-19 after these were certified by State Death Audit Board. Out of the 4 deceased, one is from Cachar district. Bimal Paul (78) from Central Road, Silchar was admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) after he was detected corona positive. He died on Tuesday afternoon. His case was sent to State Level Death Audit Board to ascertain whether the death has resulted solely due to COVID or due to co-morbidity. Finally, on Wednesday, State health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet informed that his death was due to COVID-19.
The other three who lost their battle against the coronavirus pandemic in the state are Hema Devi (77) from Tinsukia, Dr S.A.W. Hussain (85) and Debari Karmakar (40) from Jorhat. The State Health Minister in a tweet wrote, “May God help their families to bear this pain.”
