Assam registers 10 more deaths due to COVID-19 on Friday; toll reaches 853

Oct. 16: On Friday, another 10 persons died in Assam due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state has gone upto 853. This was confirmed in a tweet by State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday night. The 10 deceased were identified as:

• Anup Kumar Paul (56) of Cachar
• Bahadur Newar (44) of Charaideo
• Prabhat Kumar Dey (72) of Tinsukia
• Tanmay Sanyal (36) & Azo Puro (47) of Chirang
• Nilima Baishya (77) of Barpeta
• Kanak Talukdar (48), Lakmi N Biyani (70) & Jalil Ahmed (75) of Kamrup Metro
• Haren Goswami (85) of Sonitpur
