Assam Launches First Phase Of ‘Gunotsav 2025’ To Evaluate 14 Lakh Students In 11 Districts
way2barak, January 7: The first phase of ‘Gunotsav 2025′ began January 6, in Assam, with a focus on evaluating the academic performance of over 14 lakh students. The exercise, aimed at ensuring quality education, will run through January 9 and cover 16,056 schools across 11 districts of the state.
Under the theme “Ensuring Quality Education,” this phase will assess students in both government and provincialized schools, including Adarsha Vidyalayas, Tea Garden Model Schools, and various other specialized institutions. A total of 6,365 external evaluators, including ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior state officials, will conduct the evaluations.
The districts participating in this phase include Barpeta, Bajali, Sribhumi, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sivasagar, South Salmara Mankachar, and Udalguri.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has called for active participation and cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure the success of the program, which aims to raise educational standards across the state. The Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) has also pledged its support for the initiative.
