Assam govt withdraws temporary suspension of all interviews for selection of college teachers

Nov. 19: Assam government has withdrawn the order of temporary suspension of all interviews for selection of college teachers and librarians issued on 9 November. This was informed in a fresh notification issued by G. Phukan, Director of Higher Education (DHE), Government of Assam on 18 November, 2020.

The said notification stated, “With reference to this office letter No. DHE/PA/ORDER/ 16/2016/154 dated 31st October, 2020 and DHE/PA/Order/ 16/2016/155 dated 09-11-2020, the temporary suspension order for interview to the post of Assistant Professors/ Librarians in the Provincialised Colleges of Assam is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect.”

The new order further specified that, “All Principals of Provincialised Colleges and Govt. Model Colleges of Assam are requested to strictly follow the new Office Memorandum issued vide letter No. AHE. 407/2017/53 dated 17th November, 2020 for selection of Assistant Professors/ Librarians in the Colleges.”
