Assam govt to give scooty to both boys & girls who would pass HS in 1st division: CM

June 28: During the campaign of last Assembly elections in Assam, boys demanded bullet from their “Himanta Mama” (maternal Uncle). The would be Chief Minister also assured of giving bullets to boy students who would pass Higher Secondary (HS) in first division. Infact, since the last two years, the state government started the tradition of presenting scooty to girl students who passed HS in 1st division. The boy students regarded it as a discrimination and demanded from their “Mama” (Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma) bullet.

However, on Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that scooty will be given to both boys and girls who would pass HS in 1st division. While interacting with journalists, the Chief Minister stated that the price of bullet is very high and moreover bullet will also lead to accidents. As such, in all probability, instead of bullet, both the boys and girls who would pass HS in 1st division will be given scooty.
