Another 6 die of COVID-19 in Assam, death toll rises to 161

August 12: Six more persons died in Assam due to COVID-19. They were identified as  Himangshu Dey (70) of Cachar, Debabrata Choudhury (49) of Karimganj, Dhaneswar Sharma (56) of Dhemaji, Biswajit Ghosh (53) &  Mahesh Baruah (60) of Dibrugarh and M I Hussain (58) of Kamrup Metro. This was confirmed in a tweet by State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma. With this, the death tally of the state has now gone upto 161.
