Another 27 found +ve in Cachar on Thursday, day’s total rises to 175
One doctor, health workers, bankers found positive
August 20: With another 27 persons found positive in Cachar as per the 3rd slot of RT-PCR Test Results, the day’s total has now gone upto 175. Out of the 175 new positive cases recorded on Thursday, 131 were detected in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whereas, the rest 44 were tested positive in RT-PCR Test. Further, the death tally of the district due to novel coronavirus has gone upto 18. It needs mention here that there were 190 positive cases in Cachar on Wednesday.
Sharing this information, Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert said, “Many of the technicians and those staff involved in swab collection were found positive in Cachar. As a result, some screening centres like Urban PHC at Trunk Road, Teachers’ Training College at Link Road Point and Holy Cross HS School at Sonai Road were temporarily closed. However, testing facility is open at ISBT and SM Dev Civil Hospital.”
Further, one patient, Ashu Ranjan Sarkar (77) from Link Road, Silchar died on Thursday. He was admitted at Green Heals Hospital on Wednesday at 2 PM. The patient died at 10 AM on Thursday. Apart from being corona positive, the patient also had other co-morbidities. His case was referred for the opinion of State Death Audit Board.
In the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test Results, 10 persons were found positive on Thursday. This includes a 9-day-old baby from Udharbond presently undergoing treatment at SMCH. The baby exhibited Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) symptoms. Further, a pregnant woman in near labour from Katigorah, who too is presently admitted at SMCH was also found positive. Another 56-year-old man from Hotel Oishee, Silchar was detected COVID-19 positive. Two more persons were detected in Cachar during Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme (ATSP). They are a 53 years old male from Tarapur and another male of the same age from Rongpur Pt-IV. An air passenger, who came from Bangalore was also tested positive during the day. He is aged 23 years and is from Uttar Mohanpur in Sonai.
In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test results, 04 persons from Cachar district were found positive during the day. They are a 22-year-old female from SBI Flat, Club Road, Silchar; a 35 years old person who came from Delhi and is a resident of Rajasthan. Two more persons were detected positive who came in direct contact with lab confirmed high risk positive case. They are a 37 years old female from Sonapur Part-I and a 55 years old male from Nizfulbari-I at Sialtak, Cachar. They are asymptomatic.
The 3rd slot contained particulars of 27 persons from Cachar who were tested positive in RT-PCR. Here too, another SBI employee from Silchar was detected positive. He is 33-year-old and his source of infection was not specified in SRF. Another person whose source of infection is not mentioned but who tested positive is a 28 years old female from Pratap Enclave, Church road, Silchar. They are asymptomatic. A patient with Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms from from RC Das Lane, Radhamadhab Road was also found positive. He is 66 years old and is also symptomatic.
Further, some others like a 07 years old child from Ashram Road, Silchar; 31 years old male from Lane N0-15, Link Road, 20 years old male from AJC Bose Lane, Meherpur were also detected as COVID-19 positive. The person from Link Road is symptomatic. A 80-year-old female from Brahma Kumari at Chandmari, Tarapur was found positive as she came in contact with a symptomatic lab confirmed case.
Dr. Dharmendra Kumar (31) from New Boy’s Hostel, SMCH was found symptomatic. Two female health workers, one aged 19 & the other aged 25 were found symptomatic. They are from Cachar cancer Hospital & Research Centre.
A 55 year old male from Acharya Jagadish Ch. Bose Lane at Meherpur tested posiitive. A 51 years old male from Mela Road, Malugram also tested positive on Thursday. Further, a 21 years old male and 48 years old female from National Highway, Silchar were positive as they came in direct contact with an asymptomatic high risk lab confirmed case. An ILI patient, aged 38 from Bidhan Sarani, Near Radhamadhab Road also tested positive. Also, a 90-years-old lady from Sonai Road who came in contact with a symptomatic lab confirmed case was found positive. Again, another 71-year-old male from Gurupada Lane, Tarapur tested positive during the day.
