ALC College, Algapur converted into quarantine centre
May 19: With the nationwide lockdown imposed since 25 March, many people from Assam got struck outside the states for almost 2 months. With the easing of lockdown, more and more people are now entering in the state either by the special trains or by buses. As per the latest SOP issued by the Assam government, all those entering the state will be kept under strict quarantine. As such, every district has earmarked places as quarantine centres.
Along with the rest of Assam, Hailakandi is also geared up to follow the protocol and certain institutions have been earmarked as quarantine centres. On Tuesday, people coming from outside Hailakandi have been put under institutional quarantine at ALC College, Algapur, DIET Hailakandi and other centres for a mandatory period of 14 days. However, before sending for institutional quarantine, all passengers were screened.
