Ahead of Cabinet expansion, Babul Supriyo too resigns apart from 13 other ministers
July 7: Ahead of the Cabinet expansion Union ministers have started submitting their resignations. The Cabinet reshuffle and oath-taking ceremony is scheduled to be held at 6 pm on Wednesday. The latest one to add to the list who resigned is Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Babul Supriyo. He took to announce his decision on Facebook that he was asked to quit. In a post on Facebook, the former Minister of State said he is “extremely happy” that he left the stint “without a spot of corruption on me”. Mr Supriyo congratulated some leaders from Bengal who are going to be part of the refreshed Union cabinet, and added – “I am surely sad for myself.”
The other Union ministers who have resigned from their positions so far are:

- DV Sadananda Gowda, Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister
- Santosh Gangwar, Labour minister

- Ratan Lal Kataria
- Debashree Chaudhari
- Sanjay Dhotre
- Pratap Sarangi
- Ashwini Chaube, MoS Health
