86 detected Covid +ve in Karimganj on Tuesday, 103 discharged

May 18: Karimganj registered 86 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, pushing the coronavirus tally in the district to 6,090. Of the 86 active cases detected on Tuesday, 68 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test and 18 under RT-PCR. It needs mention here that on Monday, 148 persons were found positive in Karimganj, the biggest single day spike in the district, since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The district has currently 681 active COVID-19 cases while 103 patients have been discharged from hospitals and home isolation on Tuesday. 2,596 swab samples were collected on Tuesday. Altogether 2,53,325 samples have been tested so far. 15 persons with high risk contacts traced and tested on Tuesday. Five containment zones have come up in Karimganj town.
