After almost 2 years, Cachar becomes Covid-free, no active case in the district
None found Covid +ve in Cachar on Friday
Feb. 24: Since the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020, it is for the first time that the number of active case has become nil in Cachar district. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 4.35 PM. As per the latest data, none were found positive in the district on 25 February. Also, 01 patient was discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to zero. It needs mention here that none were found positive on Thursday. The death toll in Cachar due to Covid has reached 36 this year.
As per the updated data, a total of 61 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, no persons were found positive, whereas none were detected positive out of 82 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 Jan 2022 reached 6,416 whereas during this phase, 6,379 patients were discharged. Finally, there exists no active Covid-19 cases at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). The last 24 hours (5 PM on 24 February to 5 PM on 25 February) also did not witness the death any Covid-19 positive patient at SMCH. None were further detected positive during the day. This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening.
