Bijay Malakar named as BJP candidate from Ratabari

Silchar 29: Finally, after much speculation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come up with its list of candidates for the 4 assembly seats of Assam where by-poll will be held. The by-polls to the four Assembly seats in Assam will be held on 21 October, 2019. The 4 names were cleared by BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC).

The BJP CEC declared the names of following contesting candidates- Bijay Malakar from Ratabari, Rajen Borthakur from Rangapara, Nabanita Handique from Sonari and Towfiqur Rahman from Jania. Out of the four, only Rajen Borthakur was a former MLA whereas the other three are new faces.
