10 more Covid +ve patients including 2 children die at SMCH in last 24 hours

May 28: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 27 May to 5 PM on 28 May) witnessed demise of 10 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 10 deceased, 05 are from Cachar district, 03 from Karimganj & 02 from Hailakandi. The deceased were identified as:

• Rajen Ahmed Laskar (40) from Dhanehari, Part-II, Cachar got admitted at SMCH on 23 May. He died at 5.10 PM on 27 May.
• Dhirendra Chandra Das (72) from Majpara in Karimganj district took admission at SMCH on 23 May. He expired at 6.24 PM on 27 May.
• Ritesh Kumar (15 months) from Motinagar in Cachar was admitted at SMCH on 27 May. The baby, however, passed away at 10.35 PM on 27 May.
• Ayaz Uddin Laskar (60) from Meherpur, Silchar got admitted at SMCH on 25 May. He died at 11.30 PM on 27 May.
• Mani Palam Mali (93) from Badarpur in Karimganj district took admission at SMCH on 25 May. He died at 1.10 AM on 28 May.
• Chandan Paul (63) from Durga Shankar Lane, Ambicapatty, Silchar got admitted at SMCH at 12.30 AM on 28 May. He finally breathed his last at 4 AM the same day (28 May).
• Lila Nath (67) from Lala in Hailakandi district was admitted at SMCH on 25 May. She expired at 9.50 AM on 28 May.
• Surajit Singha (39) also from Lala in Hailakandi district took admitted at SMCH on 25 May. He passed away at 1.30 PM on 28 May.
• Tanvir Jaman (03 months) from Ashimganj in Karimganj district got admitted at SMCH in the morning on 28 May. The baby finally lost its life at 2.30 PM on 28 May.
• Dwijendra Chakraborty (78) from Rangirkhari, Silchar was admitted at SMCH in the morning on 28 May. He passed away 4.26 PM on the same day (28 May).
