2 grocery shops shut in Silchar for not maintaining price list and stock list

May 21: Cachar District Administration has been regularly deputing inspection teams to various markets and shops to curb the menace of artificial price hike and maintenance of proper stock position. In the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, there were reports of some businessmen involved in selling commodities at a rate higher than the usual price.

During regular inspection by the officials deputed by the district administration for this purpose, discrepancies were found and immediate action was taken. During the surprise check, two grocery shops at Silchar Court Bazar Road in Sadarghat has been closed for not maintaining Price Board and Stock board. These two shops are:
