Certificate course in Sanskrit in collaboration with Assam Univ inaugurated at Radhamadhab College
Jan. 21: A certificate course in Sanskritik was formally inaugurated at Radhamadhab College, Silchar (RMC) on Wednesday. The Sanskrit course is organized by the Self Financing Cell (under IQAC) of RMC in collaboration with Non Formal Educational Centre of Assam University, Silchar which is under the jurisdiction of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi.
Introducing the details of the Certificate Course, Krishna Sinha, Lecturer of Assam University Centre of Central Sanskrit University highlighted the importance of the rich legacy of Sanskrit. In her speech, which she delivered in Sanskrit, Krishna Sinha urged upon the students to learn the classical language and feel proud to be a true Indian.
In his speech, Dr. Debashish Roy, Principal of Radhamadhab College, Silchar also spoke on the importance of Sanskrit language. He said that especially for students of History, learning Sanskrit is of prime importance. This would help the students to have a first hand knowledge about many of ancient Indian texts.
Speaking during the occasion, Lakshmi Kanta Bhattacharjee, President of the Governing Body of RMC discussed at length about the beauty of Sanskrit education. He said that by learning Sanskrit one can know the true gems of the rich cultural heritage of our country. The goal of a true man-making education can be achieved through the learning of Sanskrit, quipped the President of Governing Body.
During the day, the annual Newsletter of the Library of Radhamadhab College entitled ‘Informania’ was also released by Lakshmi Kanta Bhattacharjee, President of the Governing Body of RMC in the presence of the Principal and the Librarian Dr Sonali Choudhury (Biswas).
In her speech, the college Librarian, upholded the various activities undertaken by the Library Committee and also thanked the dignitaries present for releasing the recent copy of the Newsletter. Dr. Sonali Choudhury apart from being the Librarian is also the Convenor of the Self Financing Cell (under IQAC) of Radhamadhab College, Silchar. She thanked the Assam University, Silchar and Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi for conducting the Certificate Course in Sanskrit at Radhamadhab College.
