Fiery knock of Anirban helps NCYS Press Fighters win inaugural match of BUKSS Media Cricket
Jan. 21: The inaugural match of the 9th version of Barak Upottoka Krida Sangbadik Sangstha (BUKSS) witnessed an interesting match between Netaji Chhatra Yuva Sangstha (NCYS) Press Fighters and Aranyak Valley Media Panthers. On Wednesday, the 1st match of BUKSS Media Cricket Tournament, 2021 began at 9 AM.
NCYS Press Fighters in their stipulated 15 overs, scored 116 at the loss of 5 wickets. Anirban Roy Choudhury was the highest scorer with 57 runs in just 35 balls. His brilliant knock of 57 runs consisted of 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. Anirban remained not out. The 2nd highest run for NCYS was scored by Tapas Nath. He scored 24 out of 29 balls. However, seasoned player Anirudhha Laskar who opened the match for NCYS failed to show his magic and got out just for 3 runs. The Aranyak Valley Media Panthers gave 22 runs extra to NCYS. Shivasish Bhattacharjee took 2 wickets.
To win the match, the Aranyak Valley Media Panthers required 116 runs. However, they could only score 107 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. Amalabha Das scored 32 followed by Shivasish Bhattacharjee who scored 20 runs. Ahadul Ahmed Laskar scored 19 runs. NCKS Press Fighters won the inaugural match by 5 runs.
Anirban Roy Choudhury was declared as the Man of the Match. He was handed over the trophy by DSA chief Babul Hore and Advisor of BUCKKS, Taimur Raja Choudhury.
Earlier in the morning, the players of both the teams got formally introduced to DSA President Babul Hore. He was accompanied by Dwijendralal Das, Bedabrata Banerjee, Ravi Hazam, Taj Uddin and Joydeep Chakraborty. The 2nd match of the day will be played in the afternoon between Hailakandi Press Club Challengers and YASE Khobor Heroes.
