Congress meets SP Cachar, urges to take steps against growing crimes & accidents

Dec. 14: There has been rise in crimes in Cachar district as a whole. Almost every other day, incidents of chain snatching, robbery, money snatching are reported by the media. Such types of snatching of money & chain by bike borne miscreants are often found to happen in Silchar. However, police has failed to nab the miscreants till now. These and many other issues of crime were brought to the notice of Superintendent of Police, Cachar by a delegation of Silchar District Congress Committee (DCC).

On Monday, former Silchar MP and President of All India Mahila Congress Sushmita Dev led the delegation along with Partha Ranjan Chakraborty and others and submitted a memorandum to the Police Super of Cachar. Later on, taking to social media, Sushmita Dev wrote, “Met the SP Cachar with a delegation from District Congress to take steps in light of the growing crimes in Cachar as is being reported by the media & the people. Too many thefts are worrying the citizens. Also mentioned the cases of road accidents and kidnapping. Many crimes remain unresolved.”
