COVID-19: Classes 1 to 5 will not resume this year

Nov. 29: Primary level classes (1 to 5) will in all probability not resume this year (2020) in the state of Assam. The Ministry of Home affairs in its latest advisory for COVID-19 has specifically stated that till atleast 31 December, 2020, the children below 10 years of age and the elderly should stay at home. So going by this advisory, the state government has decided that this year there will be no physical classes for the primary level students.

However, as per official sources, the state government is contemplating to reopen hostels for Class 10 and 12 students, engineering final year, polytechnic final year, degree final year, etc from mid-December. A separate set of guidelines will be prepared and issued in this regard.
