A day before cremation of Tarun Gogoi, Himanta Biswa inspects Navagraha crematorium

Nov. 25: The last rites of former Assam Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi shall be performed at Navagraha Smashan in Guwahati on 26 November, 2020. The decision about the date and venue of cremation of the veteran leader was finalised as per the wishes of his family and the Congress party. This was informed in a tweet on Tuesday night by State Cabinet Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

However, a day before the cremation of the former Chief Minister at Navagraha crematorium, Himanta Biswa Sarma went to inspect the preparations over there on Wednesday. He informed that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will also attend the funeral. The minister further said that around 1000 people can be accommodated at  Navagraha crematorium on Thursday during the funeral of the former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
