Chhath Puja guidelines issued by Assam government

Nov. 17: After Durga Puja, now the Assam government has come up with guidelines for celebration of Chhath Puja in the state. On Monday, in an order issued by the state government, it was stated that in order to contain the further spread of coronavirus, all concerned including organisers, devotees etc. during the forthcoming Chhath Puja celebrations should adopt suitable precautions.

The norms of social distancing and wearing of face masks was stated to be compulsory by all. All Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police have been asked by the Assam government to maintain strict vigil so that COVID-19 protocols are adhered to during the celebration of the occasion.

Further, it was advised that children below 10 years and those above 65 years should stay at home. If any one is found to be symptomatic, the organizers have been advised to ask him/ her to get tested for COVID-19 at the nearest screening centre.
