Congress leader Hirak Chakraborty passes away

Oct. 28: Congress leader, Hirak Chakraborty (63)  breathed his last in a hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday night at around 11.30 PM. Hirak Chakraborty, also adorned in the past, the post of the President of Dakhhin Bilpar Durga Puja Committee (Public School Road). He was suffering from cancer.

It needs mention here that his wife, Sikha Chakraborty, teacher of Netaji Vidya Bhavan, Silchar died just 18 days ago in Kolkata due to cardiac arrest. Hirak Chakraborty is survived by his two daughters, Sharmistha Chakraborty and Dr. Parmita Chakraborty, son-in-law Bishal Roy and a host of kith and kin. His last rites will be performed in Kolkata on Thursday.
