COVID-19 cases cross 2 lakh mark in Assam on Saturday; 1,71,081 recovered
Active cases 28,442 in Assam
Oct. 17: The number of COVID-19 cases in Assam crossed the 2 lakh mark on Friday. During the day, out of 23,129 tests only 642 were detected as COVID-19 positive. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,00,391, out of which, 28,442 are active cases. The positivity rate in the state is 2.78 percent.
Further, during the day, 818 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 1,71,081 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Further, during the day, 12 more persons in the state died due to COVID-19, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 865.
