Assam registers 10 more deaths due to COVID-19 on Friday, toll rises to 721

Oct. 2: On Friday, 10 more deaths due to COVID-19 were registered in Assam. With this, the death toll of the state has now reached 721. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad and anguished to inform that 10 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The deceased were identified as:

• Babu Deka (42) & Kalpana Dutta (45) of Sivasagar
• Mrinal Kumar Barman (58) & Farida Begum (54) of Lakhimpur
• AU Hussain (58) & Liyakat Ali (56) of Kamrup Metro
• Dinesh Das (55) of Goalpara
• Cheniram Gogoi (80) & Sidananda Das (76) of Sivasagar
• Ratan Kr Das (53) of Dibrugarh
