2427 persons tests +ve in Assam on Saturday including 158 in Cachar

August 29: On Saturday, 2427 persons tested positive in Assam. With this, 1,03,794 persons tested positive in the state till now. During the day, 158 persons in Cachar district were found positive during the day. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 2427 #COVID cases detected today out of 36839 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 6.58% Kamrup M- 459, Dibrugarh- 177, Cachar-158, Jorhat- 136.”

Further, three more persons succumbed to the virus  on Saturday, thereby taking the death toll of the state to 289.
