60 more tests +ve in Cachar on Monday with 6 from SP Office, day’s total 105

Majority positive cases on Monday are without travel history

August 3: Another 60 persons were tested positive on Monday. Earlier during the day 45 persons tested positive as per the information provided in the 1st and 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test. Out of the 60 fresh cases on Monday, 16 of them were detected positive whose particulars were furnished in the 3rd slot results of RT-PCR Test. The rest 44 came out to be positive as per Raped Antigen Test (RAT). That means, on Monday, a total of 105 persons were detected COVID-19 positive. This was disclosed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert.

Mr. Choudhury further informed that, out of the 105 positive cases detected on Monday, majority are without any travel history. Most of the persons tested positive during the day are without any travel history and were rather detected with Influenza Like Illness (ILI) or Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) symptoms. Even some pregnant women tested positive.

The 3rd slot of RT-PCR Test, contained information of 16 positive cases detected on Monday. Out of them, 6 were detected positive from S.P. Office, Silchar. They are asymptomatic but came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. Another 36-year-old female was found positive from near Apanjan Pally, Sonai Road. A 58-year-old male from P.I. Court, Cachar was also tested positive. Further, there were positive cases from Link Road, Rongpur, Kazidohar, Meherpur, Borjalenga and 6th AP Battalion.

Earlier on Monday, after the declaration of results of first two slots of RT-PCR test, 45 persons were detected COVID-19 positive. Out of them, 26 persons were included in the 1st slot, whereas particulars of 19 persons were mentioned in the 2nd slot.

In the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test results 26 persons tested positive in Cachar district on Monday. Among them, three are from Salgangapar, 3 from Laboc Assam Rifles Camp, 2 from Chandrapur-III, 14 of them from Kalain Community Health Centre (CHC). All of them are asymptomatic but got infected as they came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. A 24-yesrs-old youth from Tarimpur Part 3 in Katogorah with a travel history from Pune also tested positive during the day. Further, from Silchar town area, 3 persons from a same family including a 9 years old child from Rangirkhari were detected COVID-19 positive in test conducted under Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme (ATSP). They are asymptomatic.

In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test results, 19 persons were detected coronavirus positive in Cachar on Monday. Four persons working in SMCH tested positive during the day. Out  of them one is symptomatic, while the rest 3 are asymptomatic. Further, a 65-years-old lady from Public School Road with Influenza Like Symptoms (ILI) was detected positive. A 39-year-old male and a 4-year-old child of the same family from Ambicapatty were found positive. Both of them are symptomatic. A teenager girl from near Apanjan Pally at Sonai Road was also included in the 2nd positive slot. Five persons from Roygarh, Tarapur were also detected positive on Monday. They are symptomatic. A 38-years old lady from Durgapally and another 38 years old lady from Opposite Goswami Filling Station, Meherpur also tested positive. Also, a 35-year-old male from Vivekananda Lane, Ghungoor was detected as COVID-19 positive.
