9th COVID-19 death reported in Assam

June 18: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old youth sucumbed to COVID-19 on Wednesday night. As per reports, the youth identified as Sanjay Khakhlary breathed his last at Diphu COVID-19 hospital in Karbi Anglong district. The deceased had a travel history from Chennai. he came back to Assam on 16 June and was placed under institutional quarantine. However, following breathing difficulties, the youth was admitted in hospital. He finally died on Wednesday night. With this, the death toll in Assam related to COVID-19 has gone upto 9.
