73 new cases in Assam including 23 from Barak Valley, total in state 1463
Active cases 1179 in Assam
June 1: Once again, more positive cases were detected in Assam. In a recent tweet, State health Minister, himanta Biswa Sarma informed that 73 persons tested COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the total number of persons infected in Assam has reached 1463. However, out of them, 1179 are active cases. here is the break-up of the 73 new cases of COVID-19:
- 30 air travellers who arrived from Kuwait
- 12 Cachar
- 10 Kamrup
- 09 Karimganj
- 07 Kokrajhar
- 02 Hailakandi
- 01 Barpeta
- 01 Nagaon
- 01 Jorhat
With this 23 new cases from the 3 districts of Barak Valley, the total number of coronavirus cases here in the valley has gone up 171. However, the active cases in the valley are 128. Out of 171 total cases in Barak Valley, one person has died and 42 were discharged. Earlier COVID-19 patients of Barak were treated only at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). But now, COVID-19 wards were opened at Karimganj Civil Hospital and S.K. Roy Hospital, Hailakandi.
