May 7: The results of HSCL and HS conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) respectively will be declared towards mid of June. Further, this year students will get only the digital marks sheet after the declaration of results. Students will have to take admission in schools and colleges on the basis of the digital mark sheet. The mark sheets will be preserved in the website and anyone, if wishes, can also verify them online during admission. This was stated by State Education Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press meet convened in Guwahati on Thursday. The hard copy of the mark sheets will be provided later on.
The minister further said that owing to lockdown, the academic calendar has been disturbed. So in order to compensate the loss and save the academic year, the state government is planning to extending the academic year till 31 March instead of 31 December. However, the minister stated that no concrete decision was taken as yet regarding the extension of the academic year, but it is a proposal. He sought the suggestion of the people in this regard.
