Lions Club of Silchar Greater donates blood in association with BVVBDF

April 30: Lions Club of Silchar Greater organised a voluntary blood donation camp at S.M. Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar in association with Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum (BVVBDF) on Thursday. Those brave-hearts, who inspite of the ongoing lockdown came out to serve humanity by donating blood are Indraneel Rudra Gupta, Abhrodeep Dey, Uttam Dey, Rajib Choudhury and Anurag Singh.

The blood donation camp was also attended by MP Silchar Dr. Rajdeep Roy. Speaking during the occasion, Dr. Roy appreciated Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum and Lions Club of Silchar Greater for undertaking this noble venture of blood donation at this critical juncture. He lauded the efforts of BVVBDF for conducting voluntary blood donation camp since 8 April. Within this span of 3 weeks, around 65 persons have donated blood voluntarily.

MP Silchar said, “Amidst ongoing lockdown, we appealed to all to donate blood so that there occurs no crisis of blood. I am happy that people are coming forward. This would help those people undergoing treatment and require blood. I hope that on humanitarian ground, the voluntary blood donation movement will go on in the coming days also.” Dr. Roy further urged upon all to maintain the principles of lockdown. He said, Stay home, stay safe.”

Apart from Dr. Rajdeep Roy, others who graced the occasion are Superintendent of S.M. Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar Dr. Ashotush Barman, Civil Hospital Blood Bank In-charge Dr. Subrata Nandi, Central General Secretary of Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum Karunamoy Paul, President of Lions Club of Silchar Greater cum General Secretary of BVVBDF Cachar Sabyasachee Rudra Gupta, General Secretary of Lions Club of Silchar Greater cum Assistant General Secretary of BVVBDF Cachar Anoop Dutta, Treasurer of BVVBDF Cachar Prabal Baink and Media Secretary of BVVBDF Cachar Shibam Das.
