1 NSCN(K) cadre nabbed with pistol in an early morning raid at Jirighat

April 14: In the early hours of April 14, O/C Jirighat PS and staff headed by SDPO Lakhipur, with 37 Bn. Assam Rifles “C” Coy. conducted search operation at Namdailong village under Jirighat Police Station and apprehended one Nambipou (29 years) who is the son of Sangkamang of Sibiloung, District-Tamenglong, Manipur who was in hideout at his aunt house at Namdailong.

During search Police recovered (a) .22 MM Pistol – 01 No. (b) Magazine – 01 No. (c).22 MM Ammunition – 07 Rounds (d) Combat trouser – 02 (e) Combat Shirt – 02 (f) Rifle Sling with accy – 01 (g) boot patti – 01 Pair (h) BSNL 01 SIM from his possession and brought him to Jirighat PS for thorough interrogation.

On interrogation it was revealed that he is a NSCN (K) cadre and his rank is Corporal. Further, he informed that he joined underground group ZUF in February,2016 and later in July,2018 he left ZUF group and joined NSCN (K) Group. In this connection a case is being registered.
