Cachar Police sings melodious song and makes people aware about coronavirus
April 5: At a time, when the nation is passing through a critical stage, social distancing my means of lockdown seems to be a plausible solution to further the spread of deadly coronavirus. The 21 days lockdown will end on 14 April, 2020. However, in many places of India, people are seen to violate lockdown not out of compulsion but out of fun and freaking. Many more have become mentally depressed being locked inside their houses. To put across the message of the risk involved in going out, Cachar Police has adopted a splendid move.
Following the footprints of Bilaspur and Kolkata Police, Cachar Police also started to sing on the streets of Silchar. On Sunday evening, at around 7, police personnel were seen flashing mobile lights and singing songs. Bhupen Hazarika’s famous song “Manush Manusher Jonno” was beautifully rendered by them. The songs were sung by police personnel, Debasish Laskar, Samardeep Roy, and others at Central Road, Ambicapatty, Bilpar, Public School Road, Link Road and so on. Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy was also there in the streets along with the police team.
They then sang the popular Hindi song “Ek pyar ka nagma hain.” The lyrics of the original song is written by Anand Santosh. The popular music of this movie is composed by the duo Laxmikant Pyarelal. It was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh. This song is from 1972 Hindi Film ‘Shor’ produced and directed by Manoj Kumar.
The policemen changed the lyrics of the song and used phrases meant to make people aware about coronavirus. In the video, they were seen standing on the streets and singing the song. The sound system of the police vehicle was connected to the karoke mouthpiece. Residents of apartments could soon be seen coming out on their balconies and clapping to acknowledge the policemen. Indeed an emotional moment. Three cheers to Cachar Police….
