COVID-19: More than 2.82 lakh people screened in Assam

March 30: According to a statement issued by Health and Family Welfare Department of Assam, till 29 March, close to 2.82 lakh people were screened in different places in the state including airports, railway stations and others.  Out of this, a total of 36,681 passengers were screened at airports across Assam and 1,49,155 individuals at different railway stations in Assam. Other than that, 97,145 people were screened at different places in Assam. 408 samples have been tested and two were sent to NIV Pune for testing and the results were found negative.

A total of 56,580 travellers from COVID-19 affected countries were identified and out of them, 1,018 passengers completed the observation period of 28 days while the remaining 55,562 are under home quarantine.

Till 29 March, 154 samples were sent to RMRC Lahowal, Dibrugarh, 179 samples were sent to Virological Lab, GMCH Guwahati, 27 were sent to JMCH, Jorhat and 46 to SMCH, Silchar. Fortunately, all these samples were found negative. Till now, there are no COVID-19 positive cases in Assam.
