Police takes Italy returned girl to SMCH, tests negative
ইটালিফেরত মহিলাকে মেডিক্যালে নিয়ে গেল পুলিশ, রেজাল্ট নেগেটিভ

২৪ মার্চ : ইতালি ফেরত শিলচরের এক মহিলাকে নিয়ে মঙ্গলবার একপ্রস্থ নাটক হয়ে গেল শিলচরে। বিদেশ থেকে দেশে ফেরার তথ্য গোপন করায় এ দিন মহিলার বাড়িতে ছুটে আসে পুলিশ। বাড়িতে থাকা মা ও দিদিমা সহ ওই মহিলাকে ধরে নিয়ে যায় পুলিশ। পাঠানো হয় শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজের আইসোলেশন ওয়ার্ডে। চলে পরীক্ষা। তবে এ দিন রাতে জানা গেছে, মহিলার করোনা ভাইরাস টেস্ট নিগেটিভ এসেছে। তাকে হোম কোয়ারেন্টাইনে থাকার নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে।

শিলচর অম্বিকাপট্টি চৌরঙ্গী এলাকার একটি ফ্ল্যাটে থাকা নিজের মায়ের বাড়িতে মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে আসেন ওই মহিলা। বাইরে থেকে আসায় তিনি কোয়ারেন্টাইনে থাকার কথা। কিন্তু সেখানে না যাওয়ায় খবর পেয়ে এ দিন সন্ধ্যা নাগাদ স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের কর্তারা মহিলার ঘরে ছুটে আসেন। তার কাছে জানতে চান, তিনি টেস্ট করিয়েছেন কি না। স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের কর্তা অভিজিত ভট্টাচার্যের নেতৃত্বে আসা প্রতিনিধি দলটি মহিলার সঙ্গে আলাপচারিতায় তার নথিপত্র দেখতে চান। তিনি অন্য সবকিছু দেখালেও পাসপোর্ট দেখাতে রাজি হননি। পরে স্বাস্থ্য কর্তাদের চাপে অবশ্য তিনি পাসপোর্ট বের করে দেখিয়েছেন।আর এতেই ধরা পড়ে তিনি কিছুদিন আগে ইতালি ঘুরে এসেছেন।

এ দিকে, স্বাস্থ্যকর্তা বিষয়টি টেলিফোনে কাছাড়ের পুলিশ সুপারকে জানান। এরপর অবশ্য তারা মহিলার বাড়ি থেকে চলে আসেন। কিছুক্ষণ পরই সেখানে ছুটে যায় পুলিশ। ইতালি ফেরত মহিলার টেস্টের জন্য পাঠানো হয় শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজের আইসোলেশন ওয়ার্ডে। সঙ্গে মহিলার মা ও দিদিমাকেও পুলিশ নিয়ে যায়। তবে রাতে পাওয়া খবরে জানা গেছে, মহিলার টেস্ট করার পর নিগেটিভ এসেছে।

এ দিকে, একটি শিক্ষিত পরিবারের এমন আচরণে বিভিন্ন মহল থেকে সমালোচনার ঝড় উঠেছে। ইতালি থেকে আসায় করোনা ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হওয়ার ঝুঁকি বেশি থাকা সত্ত্বেও কেন তিনি নিজে থেকে কোয়ারেন্টাইনে গেলেন না? অথচ প্রশাসন বার বার এক্ষেত্রে সবার সহযোগিতা চাইছে। সম্প্রতি হাইলাকান্দির এক শিক্ষক তার বিদেশ ফেরত ছেলের তথ্য গোপন করায় বর্তমানে প্রশাসনের নজরে পড়েছেন। একটি সূত্রে জানা গেছে, ওই শিক্ষকের চাকরিও বর্তমানে অনিশ্চয়তার মধ্যে পড়েছে।

March 24: A dramatic scenario unfolded at Ambicapatty, Silchar centering an Italy returned young lady. Police rushed to her apartment at Ambicapatty after getting information that the lady has suppressed the fact that she has come from corona hit Italy. Police took along the lady along with her old grandmother and mother who resides with her. They were taken to the isolation ward of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). However, it was learnt that she tested negative. As such, she was sent for home quarantine.

On Tuesday afternoon, the lady came to the her parents flat at Ambicapatty. As she came from abroad, she was supposed to be quarantined. But when officials of health department came to know that she has not gone for quarantine, they rushed to her residence. They asked her whether she has undergone medical test. The team of health department led by Abhijit Bhattacharjee asked the lady to show her relevant travel documents. Though the girl showed the travel documents but she was reluctant to show her passport. However, the health officials compelled her to show her passport. It was then revealed that she has come from Italy a few days back.

It was then the health officials informed the matter to the Superintendent of Police, Cachar. After that, they went away from her house. But after a little while, police forces rushed to her house. The Italy returned lady was sent in an ambulance to SMCH for doing necessary test. Police also took along her mother and grandmother. However, as per reports, the lady was tested negative.

Meanwhile, netizens flooded social media for such irresponsible behaviour of the lady and her family members. Many questioned as to why the lady did not go for quarantine inspite of coming from the worst corona hit Italy.  Recently, a government employee in Hailakandi was show-caused by the district administration for concealing information about his son who returned from China.
