Undergraduate students in Tripura to get 5000 each for purchasing smartphones

March 9: Students in Tripura has some good reason to rejoice. Under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Yuba Yogajog Yojana’, the Tripura government has decided to provide financial support of Rs 5,000 to each undergraduate student of government run institutes to buy smartphones. Students will have to apply online to avail of the scheme. The amount will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries after scrutiny of their applications.

The state government will provide financial support of Rs 5,000 to 14,608 students pursuing graduation in the next financial year. This was announced by Tripura’s education and law minister Ratan Lal Nath. Students of 38 government-run higher education institutions pursuing graduate courses in medical, para-medical, engineering, science, arts, commerce, law, painting and music and nursing are eligible for this attractive offer.
