Leo Club of Karimganj Youth celebrates National Youth Day

January 12: On the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, India celebrates National Youth Day across the country. A mighty spiritual personality, Swami Vivekananda became popular in the western world after his famous speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893. Swami Vivekananda is seen as a youth idol because of the relevance of his ideas and ideals to the youth even today.

To commemorate the occasion, Leo Club of Karimganj Youth along with their parent association, Lions Club of Karimganj offered rich tribute to Swami Vivekananda. The Leo’s with great enthusiasm came out to celebrate the birthday of the youth icon, Swami Vivekananda. At Karimganj, they garlanded the state of Swamiji and offered floral tributes.

Speaking to way2barak, Leo Srinath Banik said, “It’s indeed a matter of great privelege to celebrate National Youth Day as Swami Vivekananda lived and died as a youth icon. On this day, we the members of Leo Club of Karimganj Youth took a pledge to serve humanity as preached by Swami Vivekananda.”

Present during the occasion were Binod Gang, President of Lions Club of Karimganj, Jagadish Banik and Narendra Banik on behalf of the Lions. Whereas, Leo members who were present during the National Youth Day celebration were Srinath Banik, President of the Youth Club, Project Chairman-Sohan Biswas, Rimu Kumar Deb, Bithika Choudhury, Aniruddha Nandi and Manojyoti Das.
