Goddess Kali’s war against plastic is the theme of Rudrani Club, Meherpur

October 27: Goddess Kali, the source of power of this cosmos eliminate the demons and paves way for righteousness to prevail everywhere. Taking cue from this concept, Rudrani Club, Meherpur has come up with a unique concept. Their idol depicts Goddess Kali destroying plastic bottle. Plastic probably is the greatest demon of the 21st century world and the Goddess has been invoked in the war against plastic.

Speaking to way2barak, Raj Roy, President of Rudrani Club, Meherpur said, “Our’s is a plastic free pandal. Further, we have not used any harmful chemical while preparing the idol of the Goddess. The pandal has been made from bamboo. Goddess Kali is depicted as killing the plastic demon for making this earth a better place to live in.”

Anirban Ghosh, General Secretary of the Club said, “We have tried to create awareness about the evil effects of plastic. If you see our pandal, you will find that we have put up posters explaining how plastic is causing harm to our environment. I would appeal to the people of Silchar to visit our pandal.”
