Vande Bharat Sleeper and Amrit Bharat Trains continue to Receive Overwhelming Passenger Response across NFR

way2barak, 11th August : Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) continues to receive an enthusiastic response from passengers to the Vande Bharat Sleeper and Amrit Bharat train services, reflecting the growing preference for modern, comfortable and efficient rail connectivity. During January to July 2026, 14 pairs of trains were introduced over N.F. Railway, comprising one pair of Vande Bharat Sleeper, eight pairs of Amrit Bharat trains, three pairs of long-distance Mail/Express trains and two pairs of Mail/Express Intercity trains.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper service between Kamakhya and Howrah has received a strong passenger response. Train No. 27576 Kamakhya–Howrah recorded 103% occupancy, while Train No. 27575 Howrah–Kamakhya recorded 126% occupancy, reflecting strong demand for this advanced long-distance service.

The Amrit Bharat services have also recorded impressive occupancy levels, highlighting their strong popularity among passengers. Train No. 20609 New Jalpaiguri–Tiruchchirappalli recorded 159% occupancy, while Train No. 20610 Tiruchchirappalli–New Jalpaiguri recorded 150%. Train No. 20603 New Jalpaiguri–Nagercoil registered an impressive 173% occupancy, while Train No. 20604 Nagercoil–New Jalpaiguri recorded 160%.

Other services have also witnessed strong passenger response with Train No. 15671 Kamakhya–Rohtak recording 138% occupancy, Train No. 15950 Gomti Nagar–Dibrugarh recording 144%, Train No. 16597 SMVT Bengaluru–Alipurduar Jn. recording 151%, and Train No. 15673 Charlapalli–Kamakhya recording 135%.

The consistently high occupancy figures of these advanced train services highlight the strong popularity of enhanced rail connectivity between the Northeast and major destinations across the country. The enthusiastic passenger response also reflects the growing preference for comfortable, convenient and improved train services.
