Assam University Joins ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’
‘নেশামুক্ত যুব, বিকশিত ভারত’ সংকল্প অভিযানে শামিল আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ৩ আগস্ট : প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির আহ্বানে দেশব্যাপী শুরু হওয়া ‘নেশামুক্ত যুব ফর বিকশিত ভারত সংকল্প অভিযান’-এ সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশ নিল আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। এই কর্মসূচিতে শিক্ষক, আধিকারিক, এনএসএস স্বেচ্ছাসেবক, শিক্ষার্থী এবং বিভিন্ন মহলের প্রতিনিধিরা মাদকমুক্ত ভারত গঠনের শপথ গ্রহণ করেন। অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনায় প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির ভার্চুয়াল ভাষণ সম্প্রচার করা হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানে পৌরোহিত্য করেন উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ। তিনি বলেন, সুষম আহার, স্বাস্থ্যকর বিনোদন ও ভারসাম্যপূর্ণ জীবনযাপনই মাদকাসক্তি প্রতিরোধের অন্যতম কার্যকর উপায়। ভগবদ্গীতার উদ্ধৃতি দিয়ে তিনি শারীরিক, মানসিক, আবেগীয় ও আধ্যাত্মিক ভারসাম্যের ওপর গুরুত্ব আরোপ করেন এবং যুবসমাজকে আত্মনিয়ন্ত্রণ, নৈতিক মূল্যবোধ ও মানসিক দৃঢ়তা অর্জনের আহ্বান জানান। পরে তিনি উপস্থিত সকলকে ‘নেশামুক্ত যুব ফর বিকশিত ভারত’-এর শপথ পাঠ করান।

প্রধান অতিথি ঈশ্বরভাই উভাদিয়া বলেন, পরিবারই একজন দায়িত্বশীল ও সুস্থ নাগরিক গড়ে তোলার প্রথম প্রতিষ্ঠান। পারিবারিক মূল্যবোধ, সন্তানের সঙ্গে নিয়মিত যোগাযোগ, ইতিবাচক অভিভাবকত্ব এবং আবেগগত বন্ধনই মাদকাসক্তি প্রতিরোধের সবচেয়ে শক্তিশালী ভিত্তি বলে তিনি উল্লেখ করেন।

মূল বিষয়ের ওপর আলোকপাত করেন অধ্যাপক চিররঞ্জন ভট্টাচার্য। তিনি বলেন, ‘প্রোটেক্ট, প্যারেন্ট এবং পিয়ার সাপোর্ট’—এই তিনটি নীতির মাধ্যমে বর্তমান প্রজন্মকে সঠিক পথে পরিচালিত করতে হবে। যোগব্যায়াম, খেলাধুলা, সংগীত, নৃত্য, নাটক, সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মকাণ্ড ও সমাজসেবায় যুবসমাজকে সম্পৃক্ত করার ওপর জোর দিয়ে তিনি বলেন, এসব ইতিবাচক কর্মকাণ্ড মাদকাসক্তির কার্যকর বিকল্প হতে পারে।

স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এনএসএস সেলের কর্মসূচি সমন্বয়কারী অধ্যাপক গঙ্গাভূষণ এম. মোলাঙ্কাল। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন নিবন্ধক ড. প্রদোষ কিরণ নাথ, বিভিন্ন অনুষদের ডিন, বিভাগীয় প্রধান, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা, আধিকারিক, এনএসএস প্রোগ্রাম অফিসার, শিক্ষার্থী ও স্বেচ্ছাসেবীরা। আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও অধিভুক্ত কলেজগুলির ৩২০ জন এনএসএস স্বেচ্ছাসেবক এই কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নেন। সমগ্র কর্মসূচির সমন্বয় করেন অধ্যাপক গঙ্গাভূষণ এম মোলাঙ্কাল ও এমজিএডিএম কলেজের এনএসএস প্রোগ্রাম অফিসার ড. মনোজ ঘোষ।

Way2barak, August 3 : Assam University actively participated in the nationwide ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’, launched following the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As part of the campaign, teachers, officers, NSS volunteers, students, and representatives from various sections of society took a pledge to contribute towards building a drug-free India. The programme began with the virtual address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The programme was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, who emphasized that a balanced diet, healthy recreation, and a disciplined lifestyle are among the most effective means of preventing substance abuse. Quoting the Bhagavad Gita, he highlighted the importance of maintaining physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance, and urged young people to cultivate self-discipline, moral values, and mental resilience. He also administered the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ pledge to all participants.

Chief Guest Ishwarbhai Ubhadia said that the family is the first institution in shaping responsible and healthy citizens. He stressed that strong family values, regular communication with children, positive parenting, and emotional bonding form the strongest foundation for preventing drug addiction.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Chiraranjan Bhattacharjee underscored the principles of “Protect, Parent and Peer Support” as the key to guiding the younger generation in the right direction. He emphasized the importance of engaging youth in yoga, sports, music, dance, theatre, cultural activities, and community service, stating that such positive pursuits can serve as effective alternatives to substance abuse.

The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Gangabhusan M. Molankal, Programme Coordinator of the University’s NSS Cell. Among those present were Registrar Dr. Pradosh Kiran Nath, Deans of various Schools, Heads of Departments, faculty members, officers, NSS Programme Officers, students, and volunteers. A total of 320 NSS volunteers from Assam University and its affiliated colleges participated in the campaign.
The programme was jointly coordinated by Prof. Gangabhusan M. Molankal and Dr. Manoj Ghosh, NSS Programme Officer of MGADM College.
