Martyrs’ families deserve nation’s lasting support: Governor 

way2barak, July 27: Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed across Assam on Sunday, with tributes paid to the 1999 war martyrs.

Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya led commemorations at Dighalipukhuri War Memorial, offering floral tributes to the soldiers and recalling their courage and sacrifice.

“The sacrifices of the martyrs also reflect the silent strength and resilience of their families, who equally deserve the nation’s gratitude. While citizens pursue development in every sphere, the Armed Forces remain steadfast in protecting the nation’s border under the harshest conditions, exemplifying the highest ideals of patriotism and service,” the governor said.
